USS Nightmare

As legend tells it, the story of the USS Nightmare begins many years ago when the once noble dredging vessel, the William S. Mitchell, mysteriously broke free of its moorings wreaking havoc as it hit bridge after bridge for miles down the river. Although no one was known to be aboard at the time, the boat’s eventual demise would reveal a much different story. Suffering tremendous damage during what would become known as the Mitchell Massacre, the massive steamboat dredge was destined for destruction. But as the debris was sifted, the boat revealed a history plagued by inexplicable deaths, monstrous destruction and mysterious incidents dating as far back as its 1934 construction. These unexplained “accidents” combined with the hard, grueling work of the dredge took their toll on the boat’s crew leading those lucky enough to survive service aboard to refer to the cursed steamboat as the Death Dredge. Records found on board expose the life of the demented, maniacal Captain Mitchell, his bizarre family and his evil crewmembers. But they also expose deeper, darker secrets.

The William S. Mitchell, stands as a chilling monument, frozen in time, to the infamous Mitchell Massacre; its decks forever haunted by the maniacal Captain Mitchell and his daughter, Anna. The Dent Schoolhouse

Relive the legend of a murderous Janitor and find out the truth about what went on behind the walls of Cincinnati’s Halloween Tradition! Originally opened as a schoolhouse in 1894, this place of learning now serves as a sinister playground for ghosts and unspeakable horrors. Cinematic sets, award winning makeup/costumes, and Hollywood style storytelling make each trip through the Dent Schoolhouse feel like an unforgettable journey through a real-life horror movie! Get one last taste of Halloween with a 1950s inspired queue line that hosts over 400 carved pumpkins and an assortment of vintage themed (selfie ready) booths and displays. IF you survive the adrenaline-fueled adventure through the schoolhouse, end your night with the Monster Midway that sits right behind the attraction. Friday Night After Party

The owners of USS Nightmare and The Dent Schoolhouse will participate in a Q & A on a riverboat cruise (a once-in-a-lifetime experience). You’ll see panoramic views of downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky that you can’t get anywhere else before heading down the Ohio River, while dancing to the tunes of a live DJ on board, as well as enjoying snacks and a cash bar.

Saturday Lunch at the Lynd Fruit Farm

The first stop on Saturday will be at the Lynd Fruit Farm. Nestled on 300 acres, this farm has been in Scott “Tater” Lynd’s family for 105 years. You’ll have an hour to shop the market (apples, cider (voted best in the state last year), apple cider donuts and many other items will be available for purchase. Tater will be around to talk to anyone that has any questions about what it’s like to own an apple farm, and to sample some of the 20+ varieties of apples the farm grows, including some that are very special to this orchard. Make sure you stop by and sample Evercrisp, LudaCrisp and some of the others that the orchard helped create!

Akron Haunted Schoolhouse and Haunted Laboratory

The Haunted Schoolhouse offers you the rare opportunity to face your deepest fears… your darkest thoughts… and the twisted night terrors that haunt your dreams. Ms. Alvah, was never your typical school librarian. She wasn’t content to simply ‘tell’ stories of creepy castles or dark dungeons. She wanted her students to appreciate the books she held so dear… to actually ‘experience’ them, as it were.

In the Haunted Laboratory, meet the deranged Dr. Guggenheim, who for years has led a team of scientists in his mad pursuit of manipulating DNA and controlling genetics. “Nature has gone far too slow on its own. People are still so weak…. so pathetic. Only my genius and my virus can speed up the process of evolution,” he claims.

Working late one night, the Doctor was caught in an accidental explosion that not only burned most of his body and disfigured his face beyond recognition… it also released the virus, which has spread quickly and contaminates the air throughout the laboratory’s four floors. Even if you can escape before the monstrous Doctor finds you or his creatures tear you limb from limb… the virus will likely infect you… and you may begin to feel the change even after you’ve found the relative safety of home.…

Factory of Terror

The Factory of Terror, located in Canton, Ohio, is one of the LARGEST INDOOR HAUNTED HOUSES IN THE WORLD, recognized by Guinness World Records three times for this achievement. This enormous haunt is more than a mile long and consists of five unique spine-chilling attractions; 1300 Lost Souls, Industrial Nightmare, Lafayette 13, Massacre on Mahoning, and The Abyss. To take advantage of every minute, talented actors and performers are scattered throughout the queue lines to entertain patrons as they anxiously await to enter each attraction.

Not only do we have some of the most HIGHLY DETAILED AND ELABORATE SETS in the haunt industry, but the Factory of Terror also employs over 130 actors and staff, in addition to more than 500 of the industry’s scariest monsters and high-tech animatronics.
